Information for New Residents

Welcome to Te Pahū!
Te Pahū is a great community with lots going on at the Hall, School, Church, Preschool and Squash & Sports Club. We hope you enjoy living here as much as we do and get involved in your local community, meet your neighbours, come and support local events.
The main public recreation areas are the Kāniwhaniwha Reserve on Limeworks Loop Road where many locals go for walking or biking, or the Mangakara walk at the top of Grey Road, up Mt Pirongia. (no dogs allowed).

The Hall Society has collated the following information about local activities and services in the hope that this is helpful for you.

RURAL MAIL: The local Mail contractors are Karen and Aurora – phone 027 206 1132

TE PAHŪ PHONE BOOK: There is a local telephone directory which is available for $5 from the Te Pahū School during office hours. (It’s a PTA fundraiser). This has most of the local people, businesses and organisations in Te Pahū and is a very useful resource.  It is updated on a three yearly basis, with the latest issue 2019.

HALL SOCIETY: A great place to get involved and to meet people is the Hall Society Committee.  Meetings are monthly, on the second Monday of the month, 7.30pm at the Hall. The Hall Society organises many of the public events in the community.

SCHOOL & PRE-SCHOOL: If you have young children, there is a local community run Pre-school and Te Pahū School goes up to Year 8 (Primary + Intermediate).
